Hello, my name is Justine Gapuz, and I am currently doing my first year of a Master of Science in Genetics here at the University of Otago. I was originally from the Philippines but moved to Aotearoa New Zealand, at 10 years of age. My research involves looking at Botrylloides diegensis (a type of sea squirt) and understanding the underlying mechanism behind revival from dormancy. I will investigate changes in ion levels and the role of thermosensitive channels.
